Heritage Living CenterAn Overview of the Facility
With the meandering Tongue River in the distance and pine trees and wildflowers in abundance, it is not hard to imagine why the great Lakota warrior Crazy Horse chose to camp on this scenic hill when he came to visit his Northern Cheyenne relatives. The picturesque site of the Heritage Living Center is one of southeastern Montana's most historic vistas. To compliment the panorama of Montana's Big Sky country, the land will be kept in its lovely natural state, now the home of whitetailed deer, antelope, coyotes, and numerous birds. This 40-unit Assisted Living Facility covers more than 48,000 square feet on a five-acre elevation, approximately 3,000 feet above sea level, the perfect location for residents who are also photographers, painters, bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts. Observing the Cheyenne tradition, the front entrance faces East, the direction in which the Cheyenne elders greet Maheo, the Creator, each morning at sunrise. As you enter the building, the lobby walls are covered with six large Howard Terpning Indian prints. On the left is the Wall of Living Memories with the memorial plaques. Straight ahead is the two-story Paintbrush Wing with 20 apartment units with views of the surrounding pine-covered hills and the Tongue River Valley in the distance.
Past the lobby area to the right is the two-story Bitterroot Wing with 20 apartments, each with a view of the Tongue River Valley. There is also a library, chapel, lounges, activity rooms, physical therapy room, beauty shop and a comfortable family room with a fireplace and magificent views of valley and hills. To the left of the entrance are the kitchen and dining room areas, the administration offices and lounges. Residents of the Heritage Living Center will enjoy their senior years in a safe, secure environment where they can pursue hobbies, take classes, enjoy children, or rest and visit with friends and relatives. At the Heritage Living Center, life skills will make residents valuable members of the community. Take an online tour of the facility. See Also:
