You Can Help...With Planned Giving
My heart is filled with gratitude for your kindness and your concern for these older folks, who have often suffered without the basic necessities of life. When I say God bless you, I am assuring you of my prayers each day. May our Creator bless you with health; happiness and the joy of knowing you have helped the poorest and most forgotten of people - the Northern Cheyenne elders. -- Father Emmett Contents:
A Passing Thought from Father Emmett...I remember hearing of a very wealthy lady who died at the age of 85 without having made a will. She had been in excellent health all of her life and she never dreamed that she might suddenly die. The president of a large business for years after the death of her husband, she had brought her three children into the company. In the absence of a will, State and Federal laws took over and her children had to sell the family business. After working many years, they received very little of their parents' large estate. What a terrible crime! In addition, her pastor had no claim to the $250,000 she had promised to give to her church. Taxes, legal fees and expenses consumed what could have been a well-planned estate. It is estimated that in the United States, 40 trillion dollars is transferred, as our aging generation is disposing of possessions. The shocking statistic is that 70% of all adults in the U.S. die without leaving a will. If you have not made your will and want helpful information, write for our brochure "Your Will Can Bring Peace of Mind." Have you thought of naming "Soaring Eagle" in your will? Your Will and YouYour Will is more than just a legal arrangement for the best distribution of your resources. Your Will is also a symbol of maturity, of seeing life as a whole and with a confidence in God's mysterious creation. Your Will is also a symbol of your wise and responsible stewardship. When you prepare your Will, you are not confining your resources to your own generation. You free yourself up to live in God's world, which is far bigger than any one person's life history. Your Will can also be a symbol of your concern for others and a way of seeing that Soaring Eagle's Heritage Living Center and other worthy organizations are able to continue functioning and caring for those who lack sufficient resources of their own. Your Will says directly and very clearly what your wishes, dreams and purposes are. An up-to-date Will is more than a legal document - it is truly a sign of your stewardship and concern for others.
